Robert Plant is from West Bromwich which is nearly Wolverhampton, I know he is a fervent Wolves fan! When we lived there in the mid 60`s one of our neighbours was the Olympic cyclist Hugh Porter, himself a Wulfrunian, his wife Anita Lonsbrough was quite the "Darling" of the British press at the time having won a swimming gold at the 1960 Olympics, one of Britains 2 gold medals that year! (Britains next female Olympic gold medalist in swimming was Rebecca Adlington (from Mansfield!) some 48 years later!).
I think you`re right Chris, Wolverhampton must have been quite a vibrant place in the 60`s
