Are there any vacancies with your company Valerie? It sounds like a GREAT place to work

So the Rotters have been at it again!

Another major factor I believe in the loss of access to many "interesting parking areas" are Travelling Communities. The fear of improptu settlements appearing on easily accessible land has lead to more and more of it being made accessible no longer

I don't know how long things will stay as they are in our business. We have had a very good offer for the business, which we are seriously considering. The cost of machinery and the quality for small time producers has never been better. Our main competition comes from 'home-office/work-room' style people with little or no overheads, so for the last two years, we have been running a parallel workout from our home to test it out, which could take us nicely into a slow wind down. The whole buying strategy of the public in town centres is changing. As I am typing this, the Nuneaton M&S store is closing for good. Other than market days & Saturdays, nearly 85% of Nuneaton's town centre shoppers are benefit receivers, the better off residents shop in the malls and big store comglomerates out of towns. Traders cannot survive on that level of low economy spending. So, in answer to Honey's question about inter-net sales, that may be what we decide to do as our main stream, from a work box room in our home.

These particular spots will have tons of pictures, as the Google camera car got stuck there

I know the feeling. I've seen that a couple of times too. I think local authorities are scared to death that someone might take them to court for getting stuck in a public field...

Looks like the Sheffield area is getting heavy rains at the moment, but elsewere I think you can forget about getting enough precipitation for a decent "spin-down"

I remember many years ago competing in an autotest in a Nuneaton town centre car park on a Sunday and thought there was a good crowd of people about.

You`re not kidding! We have had no decent rain here for weeks and weeks....it is very frustrating....what are outdoor summer events for if it`s not getting stuck in muddy fields

Posting this made me think that it would be a nice idea to show you guys (and gals) a few of the places I have been stuck over the years. It will come as no surprise to those who know me here, that most of them have been in thick mud.

Thanks to 'Google Earth' Panoramio View - I can show you the actual places - so here goes!

I’ll start with the grass verge mentioned in the quote above. It runs along the side of the Reading College Sports fields, and goes uphill from the bottom to the top of an unmade road.

The grass is fairly lush and the ground underneath is clay, so when it has been raining for a while, especially in the Winter, it’s like axle grease.

I first got stuck when I had stopped to take some photographs of the College buildings from the back of the Campus. I parked with my rear end pointing down to the fence - by the clump of trees - so - when I attempted to pull away, I was trying to go uphill on soaking wet muddy grass - and of course, I got nowhere. To add to the problem, I couldn’t go backwards to rock it, as my boot (trunk) was almost onto the fence. So I had to keep trying forwards….it took putting the floor mats under my tires to get me going.

Photo 1 shows the view from the top of the unmade road down to the bottom:

Photo2 is zoomed in to give you an idea of the width and slope of the verge, and shows the trees. You will also notice that the Council have now cut off all access to it (for obvious reasons) with bollards. Rotters!

The second location is out on the West side of Reading, along one of the back roads out towards Newbury. I found this place by accident when I took a wrong turn and had to find somewhere to turn around. I found this little enclosure just off the side of the road, and as you can see it’s pretty bad ground. The soil is thick, greasy clay and the first time I drove into into it, I knew I was in trouble immediately, as I instantly slowed to a crawl with my rear tires spinning….and it took me about 20 minutes to turn around.

I didn’t really appreciate the qualities of the place as I really needed to be some where else - however - my husband and I used it many times subsequently for our ‘fun’. The grass clearing at the back became a total bog in Winter…..

Photo 1 shows the entrance:

Photo 2 shows the area in closer detail. The only awkward thing is that it is directly opposite a junction, so anyone can see you struggling if you’re not right out on the grass at the back.

Having found that place, we toured about looking for other places to get stuck - and not ½ mile around the corner - we found the place shown in the third set of photos. A long lane, that led into the back woods around a farm. The entrance as you can see is a total quagmire in Winter, and the turn off under the trees just to the right, is impossible to get out of in a RWD car.

Photo 1 shows the turn in:

Photo 2 is the place where I got so stuck. We had to leave the car and come back with a friends Land Rover to get it out (luckily my husband had his car there too…):

Now - before I go any further - you may like to see my car of the time. We are talking about a period from around 1985 to 1996 when we lived near Reading. I drove a gooorgeous Beige BMW 528i - and here it is!!

Now, we move down South to the area that my husband originally comes from (before he moved up North, which is where I met him). In fact all my family except my Sister have moved South now. We are now in the New Forest which offers plenty of opportunities to get stuck. Nowhere near as many as it did when it was just a forest and not a National Park.

However, here’s a few good places to get stuck. The first two photos are of a long lane near our local Sainsbury’s which leads out to farm fields, and like all farms, the lanes are constantly chewed up and muddy.

Photo 1 shows how soft the verges are and how easy they are to move over onto and spin. It’s common to do this if another vehicle comes the other way:

Photo 2 shows the entrance to one of the fields which gets particularly slippery:

Photo 3 shows the place that I got stuck after going to visit some friends. I had to visit a friend who owns horses and keeps them in the field in the right of the picture. I parked on the verge in the centre - and it’s obvious isn’t it - it is NOT a good place to put a BMW!

The last 2 photos show 2 places in the New Forest where I have actually been really badly stuck.

The first is where I parked my car to go for a Sunday walk. You can see from the photo that it’s on a slope, and that the ground gets soaked and soft, with puddles. You will also notice the deep ruts from other peoples ‘incidents’. I parked right up to the gate, and I just couldn’t get it to go back. I spent at least an hour trying to turn around and spin out forwards. NO-one stopped as you can’t see the gate until you’re right at it on the main road - and it’s a 60mph carraigeway. One of my worst - and longest - stucks.

The final photograph shows a little place that I got stuck in at night. It’s right out in the middle of nowhere and I was totally lost. I was driving from the direction of the left of the photo, and had to turn around, so I reversed all the way into the spot by the metal bars…..and that is where I stayed!!

This was one of the rare times that I actually had to get a taxi home, and get a tow truck the following morning. I had spun my tires down to the back axles and I wasn’t going anywhere!

Just to finish off - most of the stucks down here in the New Forest have been in this beauty - my current daily driver - a BMW 535i…..which is covered in mud! I’m changing it soon for a Champagne one with cream leather upholstery later in the year. However, it won’t stay clean for long…outside that is!

Hope you enjoyed this trip down Memory Lane with me!

Don't you just love technology !!!

Looks like as well as bollards at the college, there's now a metal bar across the entrance to the grass area. Probably too many fly tippers causing trouble for the farmers.

Hope that you didn't get the taxi stuck in the same spot when coming to collect you.

Hello All.

Just been replying to someone on here. I do not have a car until tomorrow. My new Merc is delivered today, but the tax start date is tomorrow. Last nights rain will have openned up loads of stuck sites. I bet a good one for this weekend are the hundreds of amature football games that are starting now. I have been stuck at loads of those in the past. Plus you have a legitimate excuse for being there. Good entertainment too, as there will be lots of mums chearing their child stars on only to find that they have to be pushed out of the grass when the game is over. Lots of these clubs supply teas & coffee. Tip. Make sure that you are not going to be locked in, but if that is ok, hang around until there are not so many to push you out if you want a good long stuck. I had asked a sex question of you at this point but decided to delete it.
Good stucks to you all
Valerie

I thought that they all looked very inviting, and just the sort of places you could 'accidentally' get stuck whilst 'innocently' parking the car or turning around!!! When going out for the Sunday walk, I wonder how much time is spent walking and how much time spent getting car unstuck again!

O'h No, Not stuck again.

My new car is safely on my drive. Trish has come to take me out, picking Michelle up from work on the way. If you can tell from my computer connection, you will see that I am posting from my laptop whilst on the move. Some of the childrens football games have been called off because of the rain, but how can we have known that if we turn up at Coundon Court ground and get stuck? We might give the ground at Hawksmill a look at too. I was stuck there bad one Sunday in February, but that was snow.
Hope you like our good intentions.
Valerie
Second post.
Trish has a seven year old rear wheel drive Lexus. We are really stuck at Coudon Court, people about but I will try & get a pic. Several stuck cars. It's very muddy. Two of us have wellies.

Absolutely! Thanks for putting in all that effort. I recall that I once created a "pseudo perspective" photo for you using Google Earth of what I believe is one of these locations. We didn't have street view then!

Most of the time yes But wouldn't it have been wonderful if the Google camera car had passed by to make a 360 degree panorama just as honeystuckinheels went in the background?

There's nothing like going to a match only to find out that it is cancelled and you are stuck!

Now that must have been a good show How long did it take you to do that before giving up (not that you probably wanted to give up, did you?)?

The problems for girls getting stuck

As with today, we girls need eyes everywhere. Just as most of the people that contribute to this site are male, so, when we get stuck in real life, we receive the same attention. I am sure other people were recording pics of us being stuck from inside of their cars today. Thats why it is even more difficult for us to take pictures, or it does look as though we have staged the event. Sometimes I enjoy getting stuck on my own, but I have to be so careful out in the sticks. When as today I am with someone & therefore not at such a safety risk, I enjoy being seen. part of my fetish enjoyment is knowing that I am generating a bit of excitement in someone. There appeared eyes from everywhere as we skidded and slid for over an hour. One of your regular contributors on here has stated that he has had to make hasty retreats when he has realised that someone has seen him trying to record pictures, particularly a lady that is stuck. Also, some areas where children are known to be playing is a no no for pictures. I am home now, Trish & Lisa have had their car washed, Michelle & I are meeting them later. Who knows what will happen then.
Valerie

It seems that you're always getting male attention in the positive sense. I'm wondering - while stuck, haven't you ever had guys who publicly announced that you were stupid (can't call you a blonde, can they ) getting your car stuck?
